Summary
ChessClues is an offline chess training app. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporters, no social features. Your progress lives on your device. The only thing that touches the network is the in-app purchase system of the App Store / Google Play.
Progress and settings
Chosen openings, streaks, accuracy, spaced-repetition cards, lesson state and board theme are kept in local storage (shared_preferences + a local SQLite database). They never leave the device and are removed when you delete the app.
In-app purchases
When you view or buy All Access:
- Payment is handled entirely by Apple App Store / Google Play. We never see card details, name or address.
- To unlock content and restore purchases, the app checks your purchase status using an anonymous app-generated ID. No name, email or other personal information is involved.
- Not used for advertising, profiling or tracking; not sold.
Children
The app is rated Everyone / 4+ and is not directed at children. We collect no personal information from anyone. Purchases are gated by the platform's parental controls.
Your choices
- Restore purchases: Settings → Restore purchases.
- Delete local data: Settings → Reset all progress, or delete the app.
- Purchase records: managed via your Apple/Google account.
Changes
Material changes ship with the app update that introduces them; the effective date above reflects the latest revision.
