Summary
MusicDream is a music practice app. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporters and no social features. Everything you hum, sing, play or import is analysed on your device by the app's own engine and never uploaded. Your songs, takes and progress live in the app's local storage. The only part of the app that uses the network is the in-app purchase system (RevenueCat and the App Store / Google Play).
Microphone
The app asks for microphone permission so it can hear you. Audio is analysed in real time on the device for pitch detection and scoring, then discarded. A take (a recording of your performance) is saved to local storage only when you choose to record one. No audio ever leaves the device. You can revoke the permission in system settings; you can still import songs and play along with the built-in demo performer.
Songs, takes and progress
Files you import (MIDI, MusicXML, audio, pasted tab or ABC text), your transcriptions, takes, streaks, skill graph, reminder time and settings are stored in the app's local storage on your device. They are removed when you delete the app. Imported files are read through the system file picker and stay on the device; nothing is scanned.
Backups, exports and share cards
Backup, export (MIDI, tab text, a recorded take) and share cards create a file only when you ask for one, and hand it to the system share sheet so you choose where it goes. We never receive a copy. Restore reads a backup file you pick. Share cards are offered for the bundled public-domain songs only.
Practice reminders
The optional daily practice reminder is a local notification scheduled on the device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
In-app purchases
Premium is sold through the Apple App Store / Google Play, with RevenueCat handling the purchase records:
- Payment is handled entirely by Apple / Google. We never see card details, name or address.
- To unlock Premium and restore purchases, the RevenueCat SDK sends an anonymous app-generated user ID and the purchase history / receipt of this app to RevenueCat, together with basic technical details it needs to process them (device type, OS and app version, locale, store country). No name, email, account or audio is involved.
- The last store answer is saved on the device so Premium keeps working offline.
- This data is used only to provide and restore purchases. It is not used for advertising, profiling or tracking, and it is not sold. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
No advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, no social logins.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages (Everyone / 4+) and is not directed at children. We collect no personal information from anyone, including children. Purchases are gated by the platform's own parental controls.
Your choices
- Microphone: revoke in system settings at any time.
- Delete local data: delete songs in the app, or delete the app (export a backup first if you want to keep your songbook).
- Purchases: restore or manage your subscription from the Premium screen; purchase records are managed through your Apple / Google account.

Material changes ship with the app update that introduces them; the effective date above reflects the latest revision.
